Swapalease.com Helps Thousands of Drivers “Opt Out” of their Vehicle Lease Contracts

CINCINNATI, OHIO (September 9, 2020)

Swapalease.com, the nation’s largest car lease marketplace, unveiled today its sixth NFL and Cars survey, with insights into football characteristics that closely match their favorite cars, as well as insights and predictions in the upcoming NFL season.

Dating back to 2014, Swapalease.com each year has taken the pulse of NFL fans and automotive enthusiasts entering the football season. The company polled 1,500 fans across the U.S. in late August in an online survey on a number of football- and automotive-related topics. While the vast majority (14%) label themselves as New York Giants fans, most (24%) survey takers believe the Kansas City Chiefs will again win this year’s Super Bowl (followed by 16% saying Tampa Bay).

Thirty-seven percent believe this will not be Tom Brady’s last year, while 34% believe Bill Belichick is the greatest NFL coach of all time.

  • 11% believe the San Francisco 49ers remind them most of a Tesla S
  • 18% believe the Cleveland Browns remind them of an old, rusty car
  • 15% believe the Las Vegas Raiders remind them of a stolen car
  • 9% believe the New England Patriots remind them of a driverless car
  • 16% believe the Miami Dolphins will have the most difficulties with COVID-19

In terms of their favorite car, 27% believe the Chevrolet Corvette should be named Car of the Year, followed by the Tesla Model 3 (at 21%).

  • 60% believe football SHOULD be played this season
  • 29% believe the NFL will be UNABLE to complete their season
  • 53% believe games without fans might affect how the teams play on the field
  • 43% say it is not possible to award a true NCAA football champion without all conferences playing

“The upcoming NFL and NCAA football seasons will no doubt have a strange feel to them, but it won’t stop football fans from continuing to follow their favorite teams,” said Scot Hall, Executive Vice President of Swapalease.com. “From tailgating to advertising, football and cars go hand in hand for many fans, and our annual NFL and Cars survey is a fun approach to taking the pulse of how people view their favorite cars and teams.”

A total of 66 NFL players decided to opt out of this year’s football season due to COVID-19 concerns. Each year, Swapalease.com helps thousands of drivers opt out of their vehicle lease contract by matching them with another person interested in taking over the remaining portion of the lease contract.
