75% OF AUTO LEASE PRICES REMAIN STEADY INTO APRIL, FORD INCREASES PRICE ON SEVERAL MODELS

Majority of Automotive Brands Maintain Their Prices on New Leases in the Month of April

Cincinnati, OH (April 24, 2019)

Wantalease.com, the nation’s first online car lease marketplace for new lease deals, reports the latest update on new lease offerings for the month of April. The majority of brands maintained their prices from March, while Ford increased their prices on a variety of vehicles.

While many manufacturers maintained their prices in the month of April, the Nissan Sentra continues to come in as the most affordable new lease deal of the month at $129. The Nissan Sentra has held this price for the past three months, following several price drops from the brand in February.

Ford offered generous discounts on many new lease deals entering March, only to increase their prices again in April. The Ford Fusion, Taurus, Escape, Explorer and Expedition all experienced price hikes in the month of April. The Fusion experienced the highest increase at +11.84%, bringing monthly payments to $209 per month. The Explorer experienced a +7.16% increase, the Escape experienced an increase of +5.95%, the Expedition experienced a +5.37% increase, and the Taurus experienced a +3.19% increase.

“We were not surprised to see such a large number of manufacturers maintain their prices for the month of April,” said Scot Hall, Executive Vice President of Wantalease.com. “We’re maybe expecting more aggressive price drops for the month of May, as dealers prepare for Memorial Day sales and early summer specials.”

The vehicle that experienced the largest increase in monthly payment was the Honda Accord with a +22.41% increase, bringing monthly payments to $249 per month. The vehicle that experienced the largest drop in price for the month of April was the BMW X5 with a -15.30% decrease in price. The BMW X5 is priced at $739 per month.
