EDIT: 4/26/2026. I previously requested that the new leaseholder transfer $3000 to me upfront given the $5400 MSDs at the end of the lease. I now require nothing but $100. Yes - you are reading that correctly. At the end of the lease, Toyota will return $5400 to you in full and I will not ask for any cost up front beyond $100 to show you're serious (more on that below). Why the change? I need the vehicle off my driveway and I have wasted a staggering amount of time/energy with folks who aren't serious, or who are serious and don't have great credit so Toyota reject them. I need to move on! What I am respectfully asking for: 1) Patience - Toyota Financial Services are shockingly incompetent and also very very slow. They have told us a letter has been sent multiple times and a full three weeks passed /multiple calls before we saw anything. This has happened twice now. You need to be ready for this process to take two to three months. TFS themselves have told us it's up to 60 days once all the paperwork is in. You'll have the truck at some point in Summer, but if you think you might drop out because you don't have the truck come end of May, don't waste both of our time - it just won't happen. I've had two people start the process and drop out half way because they're impatient. 2) Decent credit - I'm told that an interested party with a credit score of 700 was rejected (though I doubt they had 700). Save yourself the time and hassle if your credit isn't strong. 3) I expect this will get a lot of attention. The monthly payment is crazy low for this truck, and now with the full $5400 MSDs it's truly a steal. To avoid time wasters and given you take the full $5400 MSDs at the end of the lease, I am asking for $100 upfront to start the process. 4) You cover lease transfer fees - I think they're around $200-300 max. More on the MSD: I put the maximum "Multiple Security Deposit" down ($5,400) at the beginning of the lease. Whoever the lease is transferred to will get that $5,400 back at the end of the lease. The MSD program significantly lowers the monthly lease payment with absolutely zero risk - it is refunded in every instance. It is NOT a downpayment (which of course you would not get back!). It is not possible for me to cash out the MSD mid lease/or at the transfer. Again, you'll get the full $5,400 at the end of the lease. This is all clearly documented with Toyota Financial Services. Now onto the truck: This is a fully loaded SR5 Off Road (MSRP ~$70k ish!) with a Diamondback Switchback tonneau cover. Incredible truck. After 20 years on the road with zero accidents, I've had two minor incidents with this truck in the past six months. Wild. First was somebody backing into the side of the truck in a parking lot at around 2mph. Cosmetic only. Bodywork repaired by Toyota paid for by their insurance. Second was a box truck crossing over double yellows and hitting my mirror. Did not repair, just couldn't be bothered - the damage can be seen in the photo of the mirror - it's tiny. Fortunately, given it's just a lease, there is no concern around long term value of having these incidents against the vin. That's for Toyota to worry about! I'm sad to see this one go - the short of it is that we bought a new travel trailer and want more payload capacity to tow it so have purchased an F350. I can tell you honestly, payload/towing aside, almost everything about this Tundra is better than the Ford!
