Toyota packs 2013 Land Cruiser with long list of standard features
Car leasing customers will get their first look at the 2013 model year Toyota Land Cruiser at the Chicago Auto Show next week, as dealers prepare to stock the new design by the end of the month.
Now in its 60th year, the iconic, full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) has evolved from its original identity as a basic four-wheel-drive vehicle first first launched in the Japanese market. The modern version is an upscale, eight-passenger SUV sold in 188 countries.
With an array of updated equipment, the 2013 Land Cruiser could convince some drivers to seek an
early lease termination on their old cars. New touches include LED daytime running lights on the exterior and ventilated front seats in the cabin.
Other high-technology conveniences include a multi-terrain monitor with front, side or rear selectable views, a new multi-information display, a heated steering wheel and dynamic radar cruise control.
Land Cruisers will also come with a long list of standard safety features, such as five-speed CRAWL control with off-road turn assist, multi-terrain anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, trailer sway control and a pre-collision system. Power for the whole package is provided by a hefty, 5.7-liter V8 engine with 381 horsepower.
