DataScan Field Services' field specialists
work 5 days a week. State vehicles are inspected Monday through
Friday. When you order an inspection, one of our Customer
Service Representatives will contact the vehicle custodian and
schedule the inspection. Vehicles are usually inspected within
48-72 hours, once an inspection is ordered.
What is the duration of an inspection?
A vehicle is usually inspected within one
hour. Time may vary depending on the unique characteristics of
the vehicle.
When will my inspection be
available for viewing, via the web?
The Vehicle Inspection report will be
available on-line within 48-72 hours following the inspection

A DataScan Field Services’ inspection
consists of a comprehensive exterior and interior evaluation and
a limited mechanical inspection.
Who can order a vehicle inspection
report?
A buyer or seller can order the vehicle
inspections report. If you are assuming a lease, please inquire
with lessee of the vehicle to ensure they are willing to have
the vehicle inspected. If you are listing a vehicle for lease
transfer you can order a vehicle inspection report and provide
potential lease assumption candidates with the VIN number and
reference number for viewing online for thirty days from
inspection completion.

Can a vehicle fail an inspection report?
No. A vehicle inspector does not issue a
pass or fail grade on a vehicle. A DataScan Field Services
inspection is an examination of the current condition of the
vehicle. The inspector will describe the physical condition of
the vehicle and a limited mechanical inspection. The inspector
will not indicate in the inspection report what may need repair
or replacement, or any estimates on cost.
Can I contact the DataScan Inspector who
conducted the inspection to get their
opinion of the vehicle?
No. A vehicle inspector cannot give their
opinion of the vehicle. You can contact the customer service
center to answer any questions you may have regarding the
content of the inspection report at 1-800-556-2811.
What are the credentials of your
inspectors?
The inspector will be qualified to conduct
the requested inspection and will present his photo
identification badge when arriving on location prior to
conducting inspection. The majority of inspectors possess ASC
certifications and many have I-Car certifications as well.
Does DataScan price damages found on the
vehicle?
No. DataScan Field Services documents the
damages found through pictures and by location on the vehicle.
You will need to contact a local body shop to determine damage
amounts.
Can I obtain a printed copy of my
inspection report?
The inspection report is available within
48-72 hours of the inspection by accessing our website. You will
be provided with an Inspection number at the time of order. Upon
completion of the condition report you can view and print your
condition report at
www.inspectmyride.com. Enter the Vin number or Inspection
number plus the reference number at the top right hand corner of
the page. The report viewing page also includes a print
function that allows you to print the report on your own
printer. The report is in color, so if you have color-printing
capability, then you may print the report in color as well.
Otherwise, your report will print in black and white.
Can I obtain a refund?
If an unforeseen delay occurs and the
inspection can not be completed within the allocated time frame,
your appointment will be rescheduled or your inspection fee will
be refunded to you upon request to our services center.
What happens if you are unable to
schedule the inspection or conduct the
Inspection?
Our client services center will send you
information outlining the problem and determine if you still
want the inspection scheduled as requested or receive a 100%
refund of the amount paid.
Should I be present during the
inspection?
You are welcome to be present during the
inspection of the vehicle, although keep in mind that the
vehicle inspection report will not be available until it is
prepared, reviewed and posted on our website 48-72 hours after
the inspection. If you cannot be there, do not worry as we will
take care of contacting the vehicle custodian, scheduling and
completing the inspection.
